It allows you to do two things, install the all-important HBC and optionally, BootMii. Connect your HDD to the Wii and start WiiXplorer from the Homebrew channel. Click continue when you’re ready to proceed. BootMii as boot2 is recommended, but only available to install on early Wiis. install bootmii/boot2 if you can.either way, make a NAND backup.

Click install the Homebrew Channel to begin. if you can install bootmii/boot2, you'll ultimately want to rename the bootmii folder on the SD card to something else (i use: bootmii) or bootmii will load everytime you turn the wii on. This is where you will copy the homebrew browser files. After you have done this, insert your SD card into your Nintendo Wii and head on over to the homebrew channel. Tap on the button on the bottom left corner of the screen, then Wii Options. Once the homebrew channel has loaded up, you should see a new application. Scroll to page 2 of Wii Options, then Internet. Go to Console Information, and then MAC Address. Note down your MAC Address, you are going to need it later. Click on this application to open the hombrew browser. Make sure to install Homebrew Channel and Bootmii as an IOS and/or boot2.

Having the Homebrew Channel onto your Wii will enable to run these custom made programs.
